From Polycampgoddess

Wow, what a weekend!

We have a rough headcount of about 250 people attending camp this weekend, which is about 80 more than last year, woot! It was great to have the big contingent down from Canada, and we had one guest from Japan, as well as the film crew from London, so we really spanned the globe this time. I can't pick just one favorite moment, but I think hearing & seeing so many people laughing, playing and having a good time just made my heart full. And having Rachel, Jane, Sean & Olivia there for part of the weekend was special for me personally.

The people from Firecracker Films rocked! Erosong and None Such tribes gave them a group interview all squished onto a queen-sized bed in the camper they'd rented and it was one of the most interesting puppy piles I've ever been in.

And with the exception of mosquitoes large enough to carry off a small child and the rain on Friday there was really nothing to complain about all weekend.

I feel like one of those movie stars who wins an Oscar and has to try and remember all the names of all the people she needs to thank in 40 seconds while remaining composed, elated and humble.

Thank you Susan for running registration, it took a huge load off my shoulders. Thank you Koe, Royce & Margrit oh great minions that you are. Thank you Jennybird for making sure I ate, napped and sat down.

Thank you Marcus, John & Tess, Michael and everyone who showed up on Wednesday to pack and Thursday to prepare the site. I thank all the team leaders: Rick (first aid), Scott (security & Parking), Julia (kitchens), Tillie ( child care), Jon, (site management), Susan (registration), Ilya (gophers & getters… boy were you sexy all weekend! Can't decide which was hotter – you in military drag, or you half naked. Oh well, why choose!)

And thank you again to Michael, John, Tess, Dolphin, Mike & Rain and Jennybird for staying to help site clean up today. Smiles!

Thank you Moonstorm, Erosong, and members of Pandora for the support the last four months or so while my organization revved into high gear.

Thank you Richard Gilmore for creating and maintaining the Polycamp website. You cyber Rock!

I want to thank everyone from the community who offered up their wisdom and gave workshops and panels. It's a testament to our group strength; so much knowledge and experience freely shared.

And Gaia Consort, weren't they great! A big round of applause for Chris, Sue, Larry, Sunni, Betsy and Danno!

I have a special thank you too, to everyone who attended, for allowing Firecracker Films to participate in camp so fully. I was overwhelmed by the number of you who came forward and said to them: "let me tell my story". I will let you know when I hear more about the documentary and when I get a copy there will be a big viewing party!

There will be Polycamp in the future. This yahoogroup will now function as our roundtable for discussions and planning meetings etc. Thank you all. I had a wonderful time!

Love to all!
